About Project HANDUM
Project HANDUM was developed to leverage the educational advantages of mobile devices by creating a game environment where students can learn about Communicable Diseases and Disease Prevention topics through exploration of a constructed setting and engagement in activities based on select learning competencies.
Outbreak Vanguard and its accompanying Teacher Portal are products of Project Handum that can be used to supplement the teachings of DepEd-standardized Prevention and Control of Diseases and Disorder topics. Teachers will be able to get a summary of the students' performance in the learning activity through the website, and they can compare the overall performance of the application against students learning with traditional learning setup.
This work is primarily funded by the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) with Project No. 9099, 2021.
